Proper Steps for Blow Drying: A Smoother, Slicker Finish Blow Dry.

To blow dry your hair for knotless braids, follow these steps:

1.     Start by shampooing and conditioning your hair. Removing any dirt or product buildup to make the blow drying easier to manage.

Tip: Applying a Hair mask to your shampoo and conditioner routine will aid in a better blow drying experience and overall adds hydration, reduces hair damage, softens hair, strengthens hair, stimulates hair growth, prevents hair breakage and split ends, and diminishes frizz.

2.     Using a microfiber towel, gently towel dry your hair to remove excess water. Avoid rubbing your hair vigorously as this can cause fizziness and damage.

3.     Before blow drying, apply a heat protectant spray to your hair. This will create a shield around your strands and protect them from heat damage.

4.     Using hair clips or hair ties carefully section and divide hair into small sections that’s manageable.  This makes it easier to handle and ensure that you dry each section thoroughly.

5.     Start blow drying your hair using a medium heat. Hold the blow dryer a few inches away from your hair to prevent heat damage. The best option for a smooth blow out is to use a round brush or paddle brush to comb through your hair while blow-drying. This will smooth hair, prevent tangles, and straighten the ends of your hair.

6.     Take small sections of hair, wrap them around the brush and apply gentle tension as you blow dry. This also helps to create a sleeker finish and aids in stretching the hair for smoother knotless braids.

Tip: Recommended: Adding a lightweight serum to damp hair helps to reduce tangles, promotes shine, enhances straightness, boosts smoothness and controls frizz.

7.     Focus on the ends: Pay extra attention to the ends of your hair, as they tend to be more prone to damage and breakage. Aim the blow dry downward from the roots to the tips to help seal the cuticles and prevent frizz.

8.     Continue blow drying hair section by section until your hair is completely dry. Make sure the roots are completely dry as well as the ends to avoid any moisture remaining.

9.     Once hair is dry, apply a lightweight oil or serum to add shine and help combat any frizz.
